Mail Services
New Move Update Requirement!

Recent changes implemented by the United States Postal Service involving Bulk Mail, or Permit #2, affect Indiana University’s policies and procedures. Please note the following changes.

  1. Effective July 1, 2010 outside vendors who prepare mailings for IU departments will no longer be able to mail items using Indiana University’s Permit #2.  Outside vendors will still be able to prepare and process your mailings, but they will have to submit that mailing using their own permit number. 
  2. Also, any mailing submitted to the Post Office under IU’s Permit #2 will have to include an approved Indiana University signature as the mailing agent on the accompanying paperwork.  This step is mandated to insure compliance with established “Move Update” procedures that will insure the Indiana University community will continue to be able to send mail at discounted rates.
